Milestone Towers Proposal Town Hall Meetings
The Falls Church City School Board has received a proposal from Milestone Towers and Verizon Wireless to install a cell tower on the FCCPS secondary campus. Before any decisions are made, the next step is to hold two virtual Town Hall meetings on the same night, one for the nearby residential community, one for the school community. To learn more about the project, why it is requested, what it will look like, how it works, and safety, visit the project website. There will be two Town Hall meetings on the same night: one for the residential community surrounding the school and one for the school community. The same material will be shared at both meetings. The Falls Church School Board has voted to rename George Mason High School – Meridian High School – to recognize the city's location on the 1791 meridian between Washington, DC, and Virginia, and the school's history of educating global citizens through the IB Programme.
The Falls Church School Board has voted to return the name of Thomas Jefferson Elementary to its original - Oak Street Elementary - evoking a sense of place and recognizing how trees are important natural elements of Falls Church.
