Oak Street Elementary - February 15, 2024
The 2024 STEAM Night "Capturing Memories that are Out of this World" will be held at Oak Street Elementary on Febuary 15, 2024 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Coordinators are looking for businesses to exhibit at this annual event held for students, families and the community.

Subject Matter Experts - PYP Exhibition Projects
Oak Street Elementary - January - March 2024
Students in the 5th grade at Oak Street Elementary present research projects on various topics as the culmination of their International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. Each group works with an adult mentor to plan their project, which includes interviewing an "expert" in the field.
Topics include: Environmental issues, Animal Welfare, Social Justice, LGBTQIA+, Technology, Sports, Healthy Living, Bullying, and Homelessness

Volunteer - FIRST Robotics Competition
Meridian High School - March 22 - 24
Meridian High School is hosting the FIRST Robotics Competition in March. Tons of volunteers are needed to help make the event a success! Volunteer roles include being a Judge, Pit Administrator, Safety Attendant and more.

Job Shadow - Entry Level Clerical/Hospitality/IT Fields
Meridian High School - Transitions Program
Meridian High School is seeking business partners to provide job shadowing & training for students in the Transitions Program. The Transitions Program prepares and supports students with disabilities in their transition from high school to adult life.
ABLE Program: After consultation with the teacher to ensure a good match, ABLE Students will visit a job site accompanied by a job coach for 5+ hours per week
Education for Employment Program: Diploma-bound students who are exploring careers and seek job experience. Students will begin accompanied by a job coach, with the goal of progressing to independent work

Internship - Sports Medicine/Training/Fitness
Meridian High School - Sports Medicine Class
Meridian High School seeks business partners in the sports medicine/fitness fields to host student interns in the Sports Medicine Class. This is a 2-year hands-on class designed to teach students human anatomy and sports medicine procedures.

Job Shadow - Medical/Wellness/ Fitness Fields
Meridian High School - Anatomy Class
Meridian High School is seeking business partners in the medical, dental, wellness and fitness fields to host students in the Human Anatomy & Physiology class. Students need a total of 5 hours in December and January to gain experience in these fields.

Sponsorship - GIVE Day Service Learning Event
Falls Church Elementary PTA - January 15, 2024
GIVE Day is a Falls Church Elementary PTA-sponsored initiative to get our PreK-5th graders involved in community service. GIVE stands for Get Involved, Value Everyone. The event is planned and led by our 5th grade GIVE Day Ambassadors who decide on the causes they will support. GIVE Day is a months-long process that culminates on Monday, January 15, 2024 in the Meridian High School auxiliary gym.
Sponsorships and individual donations are needed to purchase supplies for the event.
