On Friday, January 26th, the fourth grade class at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School presented their Colonial Day projects to demonstrate how the early colonists organized themselves.
Each fourth grader chose an occupation from colonial days and conducted research to learn more about a particular trade. After organizing information and summarizing important details, the students created visual presentations and displayed them for an audience.
The IB learner profile represents the core values of our school community. When TJ's Student Council Association (SCA) met last week, each member illustrated one of the ten attributes of the learner profile. Their works of art are currently on display in the TJ cafeteria, reminding students of ways to demonstrate the learner profile during lunch and recess. Take a gallery walk through the cafeteria to learn more about being knowledgeable, reflective, caring, balanced, principled, open-minded, a thinker, a communicator, a risk-taker, and an inquirer.
The TJ SCA members are: Grade 2 - Suan Kim, Bella Paradiso, Bobby Miller, Mattei Chiappetta, Ownen Gelzer, Truman Lapp, Zoraida Icabalceta; Grade 3 - Emily Rose Allen, Jonathan Oppenheimer, Katherine Donovan, Matthew Sperry, Jack Lindly, Nick Pollack, Emily Ives; Grade 4 - Colter Adams, Rosie Tombul, Drew Langford, Ciara Curtin, Elisa D'Agostine, Enzo Paradiso.
