A New Lost and Found
Tuesday, 01 November 2016 00:00

Picture of the organized lost and found. Clothes are hung on racks

Be sure to label your children's clothing and lunch boxes.

Jackets that are needed in the morning are quickly shed during recess, and forgotten during line up. Remind your child to check the lost and found which is found in the hallway between the cafeteria and the gym.  Very few of these items have a name in them!

Street signs at Oak St. and Timber Lane

Please familiarize yourself with the following from the Falls Church Police Department.

All students being dropped off MUST use the Seaton Lane entrance.  Please use the Enter and Exit driveways as posted.  They are not interchangeable.

K-turns and U-turns at Oak Street and Timber Lane are dangerous to pedestrians and other drivers.  Please use  Seaton Lane for dropping off and picking up students.

With the new school year beginning, the City is advising citizens of the revised road closures during arrival and dismissal times at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.
General vehicular traffic will be closed in the following locations during school days:

  • S. Oak St. from Seaton Ln. to Timber Ln. and Parker Ave. from Timber Ln. to S. Oak St. will be closed approximately from 8:20 – 8:50 a.m.
  • S. Oak St. from Seaton Ln. to Timber Ln. will be closed approximately 10 minutes before dismissal until 20 minutes after dismissal.
  • Parker Ave. from Timber Ln. to S. Oak St. will be closed approximately 3 minutes before dismissal until 20 minutes after dismissal.

School is dismissed at TJ Elementary at 3:50 p.m (1:15 p.m. on early dismissal days). Vehicles dropping off or picking up students must use the Seaton Ln. school parking lot.

These changes are implemented to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment for the students.
Vehicle traffic should expect increased delays during these times.
