Colonial day is a multifaceted project. Students start out by researching, through text and online resources, a colonial trade/craft that interested them. The actual Colonial Day event consisted of each fourth graded student taking their new knowledge (research) of their colonial trade/craft and creating a type of living history presentation for parents/teachers and other visitors to our colonial "villages".

Some local primary care physicians now have a limited supply of the H1N1 vaccine.
Parents of Falls Church City Public School students who wish to have their children vaccinated as soon as possible should contact their family practitioner to check on availability
The Fairfax County Health Department is also planning to hold H1N1 vaccination clinics in county middle schools the weekend of October 24th and 25th.
The clinic location nearest to Falls Church City will be Longfellow Middle School on Westmoreland Street near Kirby Road. Right now, the plan for these clinics is to vaccinate children 6 months to 18 years of age between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., but the plan may have to be modified based on the number of H1N1 vaccination doses that are available at that time.
