Thomas Jefferson fourth grade teacher Cindy Bragg (far right), along with two of her students, Niharika Singhvi and Adele Peng (in lifevests) participated in a " Grasses for the Masses" planting this past Saturday.

"We had been growing the grasses in our classroom since February. This projects connects with our watershed/natural resources curriculum in 4th grade" Ms. Bragg said.

"One of the principles of PYP/IB learning is that what we learn in school should be useful and transcend our classroom walls.

"In the spirit of this, PYP learners act on their new knowledge/skills, to solve problems, to create things, etc. In this case, we would be taking action to help improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay and our local watersheds," Ms. Bragg said.
