In March of 2012 Thomas Jefferson Elementary School became authorized to implement the Primary Years Program of the International Baccalaureate (IB).

Cross off buying school supplies from your To-Do List.  The Falls Church Elementary PTA is once again offering school supply kits through Edu-Kits. Order by June 14 for the best pricing;  the final deadline is August 6.

If you enjoy the hunting and gathering of the supplies you need, you can find the supply lists on this page and under the Registration Menu when they become available.  these lists include additional items to bring to school such as art smocks and class activity donations.

EduKits order information is available here. This program is entirely optional.

Eat Breakfast with Milk - Win a Bike Helmet Print E-mail

breakfast_achievement The Falls Church City Public Schools is collaborating with the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association to promote breakfast and milk for two weeks starting on Monday.
Each day from May 13th-24th TJ students who purchase breakfast with milk are eligible to win a FREE bike helmet with a cow print motif. 
Winners will be chosen randomly. There will be ten winners - one for each day of the contest.

Standards of Learning Testing Begins May 14 Print E-mail

Beginning on May 14, it is very important that our students arrive at school on time and avoid appointments in the morning.  Well-rested and well-fed students will have an easier time concentrating on the Virginia Standards of Learning tests.  Students are encouraged to view this testing experience as an opportunity to demonstrate how knowledgable they are!

The tests are not timed and begin promptly at 8:50.  Students who are late or absent will be given make up tests at a later time.

Tuesday, May 14 - Grade 4 Reading
Wednesday, May 15 - Grade 4 Math, part 1
Thursday, May 16 - Grade 4 Math, part 2
Friday, May 17 - Grade 3 Science
Monday, May 20 - Grade 4 VA Studies
Tuesday, May 21 - Grade 3 Reading
Wednesday, May 22 - Grade 3 Math, part 1
Thursday, May 23 - Grade 3 Math, part 2
Tuesday, May 28 - Grade 3 Social Studies
