The Falls Church City School Board is seeking public and staff input on the qualifications and characteristics for a new superintendent. The School Board released the schedule for six public hearings, an online survey, and the creation of a new website to gather community and staff feedback.
School Board survey on superintendent qualifications; which is available to the community-at-large and staff, is available on the Falls Church City Public Schools website at www.fccps.org/supersearch. The survey is available until December 1st.
In addition to the survey, the Board will hold public hearings immediately prior to its regularly scheduled board meetings on November 9 and November 23, 2010. The public hearing will begin at 8 p.m. and will be held in the Chambers at City Hall, 300 Park Ave, Falls Church, VA.
In addition, the School Board will gather community and staff input through four public hearings, one held in each school.

“Hiring a new superintendent is the biggest task facing a School Board. We wanted to ensure ample opportunity for public input into this critical decision”, said School Board Chair Joan Wodiska. “We hope parents, students, staff, and residents will take the time to fill out the survey or attend a public hearing. Your views will inform and drive the Board’s search for a new superintendent.”
