Falls Church City School Board Member Joan Wodiska has been named the new Chairman of
the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Northeastern Region. Wodiska was elected to
the post during the recent VSBA convention in Williamsburg. She served last year as the
board’s vice chairman.
“I am honored to represent Falls Church and the Northern Virginia area in such an important
leadership role,” Wodiska said. “This opportunity enables me to more widely promote the Falls
Church City Public Schools and other successful programs in our area. By working regionally,
we can share innovative ideas and potentially improve the quality of our educational programs
by learning from others.”
As chairman, Wodiska’s responsibilities will include representing all school boards in the
Northeastern Region, promoting VSBA activities and services to regional members and planning
the organization’s spring regional forum and annual convention.
The VSBA Northeastern Region includes the City of Falls Church and Arlington, Clarke,
Fairfax, Fauquier, Fredericksburg, Loudoun, Manassas, Prince William, Spotsylvania, and
Stafford counties.
