Students become part of an Environmental Think Tank. After discussion of current, timely events, students come to consensus about an environmental issue of interest. They work in small groups to narrow the larger topic then develop a product aimed at a specific focus/audience.
Embedded in this curriculum is a discussion about the Falls Church Sister City Partnership with Kokolopori, Congo and the Bonobo Conservation Initiative. This serves as an introduction to Enviro-Think and possible topics of interest.
Student products vary depending on the class and their interests. Some possibilities include:
Webpage Development
Development of a Mini-Documentary using PrimaryAccess

Students discuss the types of cases that could go before the Supreme Court, or for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 school years, topics that are relevant for the Presidential Election. After choosing one topic for in-depth discussion, they take on the role of different stakeholders, research the topic from their stakeholder's point of view, then engage in a Socratic Seminar arguing the case from their stakeholder's point of view. |
