What fun and exciting field trips are coming soon?
The 6th grade will be going on their annual Ice Skating field trip on Thursday, January 15th, 2009.  Field trip permission forms for this field trip were sent home last week.  Permission slips and money are due by Wednesday, December 17th to your students Homebase teacher.

Who has been rewarded?
Many students were rewarded for their outstanding academic effort and school citizenship at the First Quarter Recognition Ceremony.  The following students were named the 6th Grade Stars for being all-around terrific students and citizens: Meredith Johnson, Gabe Terry, Lily Walter, and Arijeet Sensharma.  Keep up the great work!

Can I borrow a pencil?  Do you have any extra paper?
These are a few of the questions we hear on a daily basis.  Many of our 6th graders are in need of additional supplies, especially notebook paper and pencils.  Please ask your student if they need to replenish their school supplies.

What's happening in advisory?
The month of December is dedicated to CARING.  Each advisory is doing activities about being kind, being compassionate and showing you care, expressing gratitude, forgiving others, and helping people in need.  In the 6th grade hallway, there is a Paws and Say a Kind Word bulletin board where students and teachers can give someone else a "Paw on the Back" or a "K-9 Kudos."

Spanish 6 (Sra. Barry and Ms. Stigall)
The sixth graders have started conjugating regular –AR verbs. They are also learning how to say how often they do certain activities. The students will learn how to use the verb “Ir” (to go) and “Jugar” (to play). The students will begin preparing for their individual oral video presentations before the break.
