Computer Lab
Mount Daniel Technology Overview:

Mount Daniel's students use computers in their classrooms and in the lab.  First grade students use the lab to work with age appropriate computer programs, learning basic technology and project production skills.  Students from both grades use the computer lab for their work with the Waterford Early Reading Program.
Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum and is a valued component of our program.

Classroom Hardware and Software:
All classrooms have networked computers and printers.   Each classroom has one computer that displays on a TV or LCD projector, a digital camera and a flex cam that magnifies objects on a TV screen.  Special education classrooms have Waterford computers that run both Waterford Early Reading and Waterford Math and Science.

Computer Lab Hardware:
Hardware in the Mount Daniel computer lab includes networked computers, a networked color laser printer, and a large-group presentation device (LCD projector).  Networked computers have Internet access through the district's wide area network.  In addition, there are computers and laser printers dedicated for use with the Waterford Early Reading Program.

Library Hardware & Software:
Hardware and software in the Mount Daniel library includes a fully automated catalog and circulation system, networked patron computers, and a large-group presentation device (LCD projector).  Students have access to age-appropriate electronic research tools through the library's patron computers.

Shared Hardware:
Additional Mount Daniel building hardware includes laptop computers which are available for teacher use and a portable large-group presentation device (LCD projector).  There are video and digital camcorders available for loan.  There are Elmo document scanners that are shared throughout the building.

Internet Safety:
Students view the Internet only when supervised by adults.  In compliance with state regulations, Mt. Daniel teaches Internet safety as part of our program.  One of the resources we used is NetSmartz Kids, a national organization dedicated to promoting safe Internet use for children.
