Mount Daniel is participating in the Hour of Code! We are using Daisy the Dinosaur in KG and MadeWithCode for 1st Grade. Our "Hour of Code" will be about 20 min.
“The 'Hour of Code™' is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week[csedweek.org] and Code.org[code.org] to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.”
It's International Week at Mount Daniel! Morning Announcements will include Hippo Facts from three different countries and students will contribute an international greeting. On Friday night at TJ we will be celebrating International Night.
As the end of school nears, getting ready for this summer's activities occupies most of the non-classroom time for Mount Daniel staff.
Mount Daniel School is currently 100 students OVER capacity. Just in the last two years, dedicated program areas such as art and music rooms, and even the library have been converted to general classrooms. Couple that with ADA deficiencies (lack of sprinklers, wheelchair ramps, small door widths, etc.) and Mount Daniel (circa 1952) is in need of an overhaul.
