Students are starting to wonder when school will open again now that Falls Church City Public Schools are closed today (Code Red) due to an approaching storm coming in from the Midwest/Southwest. All evening activities have been cancelled, and day care and ASAP are also closed for the day.
Four snow days are built into the school calendar each year, and this year, FCCPS has exceeded this number. School will now be held on two previously designated make-up days, Monday, February 15 (President's Day), and Monday, April 12 (Professional Day).
Snow is expected to continue to fall through the day on Wednesday. No announcement has been made regarding school cancellations for the rest of the week. Make sure to check the school division website: www.fccps.org, Falls Church City Television (Cox 12, RCN 2, Verizon 35), the FCC-TV website: www.fcctv.net, the FCCPS parent information line: (703) 248-5500 x 3113, www.twitter.com (follow FCCPS), or local commercial television and radio stations for updated news on school cancellations.
