The first graders in Room 15 at Mount Daniel liked all the books that they have read. Ten books were read in total, including “Otis,” “The Elephant in the Room,” “The Odd Egg,” “Machines go to Work,” “A Isn’t for Fox,” “What Pet to Get,” “We Are in a Book,” “Harry and Horsie,” “Testing the Ice,” and “How Rocket Learned to Read.”

On February 10, the first graders made a sticker graph to show which books were the winners.

After all the books were read, the first graders voted. The “Elephant in the Room” had the most votes in Room 15, and there was almost a tie with “How Rocket Learned to Read.”

The books that lost were “The Odd Egg,” “Machines Go to Work,” and “A Isn’t for Fox” because they did not get any votes.

Room 15 really liked all the books and looks forward to see which book wins in the entire school.

Mount Daniel celebrated the 100^th day of school. It was on February 10, 2012. Mount Daniel celebrated it because it was the 100^th day of school, and they did fun activities.

Some fun activities were making the 100^th day hash. To make the hash, you have to put ten of each ingredient one hundred times so there will be 100 ingredients. Marshmallows, raisins, skittles, cheerios, goldfish, chocolate chips, pretzels, and other stuff were in the hash.

Students at Mt. Daniel got 100 day glasses and they could see through the zeros. They also get to walk through the zeros of one hundred when they walk in.

Claire, who went to Mount Daniel eleven years ago, said “I brought in 100 Barbie things for the 100th day of school.”

Lucas brought 100 pieces of popcorn for 100 days. Izzy brought in 100 raw noodles. Hannah brought in 100 M&Ms.

It was extra fun because the students had “Fun Friday.” Fun Friday is when their teacher, Mrs. Kravinsky, gives them toys and lets the kids play for a few minutes.

They loved the 100^th day of school!
