Hockey may not be as popular in the DC area as it is up north, but the Washington Capitals are doing quite a bit to change that. Last year’s Southeast division champions are once again leading the division and are hoping to make the playoffs for the second year in a row. More fans than ever have been coming out to watch the Caps play at Verizon Center in DC. Every time the team has a game on a Thursday night, Chipotle Mexican Grill sponsors Student Rush Night. On these special nights, the Caps offer huge discounts on tickets to anyone who can show a valid 2008-2009 student ID. Students can get tickets to the game for as little as $15.
When a student purchases a ticket they also receive a coupon for a free Chipotle burrito that can be used at any time. Tonight the Capitals take on the New York Islanders in what is sure to be another exiting game. George Mason senior Jake Savage said, "I don't know that much about hockey but I've been to games and they’re a lot of fun." Help hockey grow in our area by going to support our local team, The Washington Capitals. Even if you're not a huge hockey fan, the games are a great way to spend a night and the free Burrito is always a plus.
