Et Tu Bruté?

There was a surplus of blood and backstabbing staining Mrs. Rizzi’s block 07 honors English class on Friday.

During this block, sophomores Gemma Sedeita and Lauren Zampella took on the role of Julius Caesar. While a silent narrated performance, the giggles and onomatopoetic sounds of fake blood hitting trash bag togas echoed throughout the senior courtyard.

“Realistically, I don’t think there would be as much blood,” chuckled Gemma, “the simulation helped our class understand the true, brutal killing of Julius Caesar.”

Lauren Zampella countered, “It was hard not to laugh! My best friends were backstabbing me!” Certainly, that is no laughing matter.

Under the narration of Jessica Lim, Jonathan Babington, Anna Horneman, and Rachel Anderson, this reenactment was definitely as authentic as the actual killing of Julius Caesar- just with plastic knives.
