Principal Ty Byrd proudly recognized senior Hannah Gann Friday morning as a recipient of the National Merit Scholarship. Hannah was invited to the office to receive her certificate, as well as words of congratulations, from Principal Byrd, Kurjanowicz, and other faculty members.
"For her to distinguish herself in this way is really special," noted Byrd, adding that "this is just one of the many accomplishments I'm sure she is going to acquire as she matures, and I'm glad we could be a small part of it. Congratulations to Hannah."
The National Merit Scholarship is a monetary scholarship award of 2,500 dollars to be used at an undergraduate college or university in the United States. Hannah will attend the University of Pennsylvania next year with the intent of studying education.
