This Friday the 13th is likely to be one day George Mason Junior Stephanie Cheney will always remember.  Cheney is in stride to break the school’s all-time basketball scoring record when the Lady Mustangs take on Manassas Park this evening on their home court at Mary Ellen Henderson.

The current record, 1185 points, has stood for the last 12 years since Kate Jackson graduated with the Class of 2000.  Cheney needs just 12 points to tie, and 13 points surpass Jackson’s feat.  Averaging 18.6 points a game, odds are that shortly after halftime Cheney will claim the record.  And as a junior, Cheney has a full year to push the mark much higher.

The Varsity Lady Mustangs play at 7:45 p.m.  following the JV game at 6:15.

Tonight is Mount Daniel and Thomas Jefferson Elementary night with elementary student admission just $1 with a paying adult.
