School Board

The Falls Church City School Board adopted its budget for the 2016-2017 school year during a special meeting on May 27. The vote follows an unprecedented 11th budget work session in which Board members considered suggested reduction of $912,600 to its proposed budget from staff, administrators and school affiliated organizations.

The Falls Church School Board met for its 10th FY17 Budget Work Session Wednesday as work continues to locate $912 thousand in cuts to the proposed budget it presented to City Council.

The community was invited to learn about the current state of the Mt. Daniel project, and ask any questions and have concerns addressed.

On Monday night, 4 of 7 City Council members signaled a desire to hold the tax rate flat this year, requiring the School Board to find $912 thousand in budget cuts to their proposed budget. A reduction of this magnitude requires significant reduction in services to our children and our entire school system.
