DrJonesBudgetFalls Church City Public Schools enrollment continues to grow at a 6.1% pace - faster than any school system in Northern Virginia. Another 176 new students (an amount equal to an entire grade level) are expected by fall.

The Falls Church School Board, Tuesday evening, voted unanimously to support both the sale of the City’s water system and a “Yes” vote on the referendum. Why? "Because we believe the sale is in the best interest of the entire community in general and Falls Church City Public Schools in particular," said Chair Susan Kearney in a Letter to the Editor which appears below.

It started with a simple email from a concerned parent to the Falls Church School Board, City Council and Police Department in February of 2012; would it be possible to bring stop arm cameras to school buses in Falls Church to monitor motorists who illegally pass stopped school buses on some of Falls Church City roads?

Thomas Jefferson opened for students in time for the first day of school, and this week, the dignitaries made it official with a ribbon cutting and open house.
