Six FCCPS Teachers Earn National Board Certification

Six teachers in the Falls Church City Public Schools are now among 97,293 teachers nationwide to earn certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, Assistant Superintendent Lisa High announced today.

The teachers are the latest in the FCCPS to attain this achievement since the school division initiated its program to promote National Board Certification in 2006.

National Board Certification is the highest symbol of professional teaching excellence. To receive the distinction, candidates must fulfill the requirements of a rigorous, two-year process that demonstrates a teacher’s ability to meet high standards in his or her field.

The successful candidates from the FCCPS are:

Cindy Bragg - Thomas Jefferson Elementary
Jennie Ehrenzeller - Thomas Jefferson Elementary
Brad Lands - Mary Ellen Henderson
Bryan Harris - George Mason
Erik Healey - George Mason
Carey Pollack - George Mason

The teachers will be recognized at an upcoming school board meeting. They bring to 20 the total number of National Board Certified teachers in the school division.
