With all of the prayers that the arrival of the new baseball team in DC has answered, I hope that this team of familiar veterans and fresh young players can deliver on a season that holds much magnitude to so many. Our Nation’s capital has been without a baseball team for 34 years and there are many old fans as well as new that are extremely excited to see baseball come back to the city. I would consider myself the latter.
The Nationals are in an extremely tough division in which they have been chosen last and I hope that the fans that have been waiting can be patient because it is a lot to expect from a team that has no real owner and had no real home last season for them to do anything more than win a few games. I wish there would be instant success but I know that these things take time, and as someone who is an avid Redskins and Wizards fan, I am used to have to being extremely patient. I believe that if the DC fans can wait for a few seasons, let the pitching develop, and let the team move into its new stadium they will have more money to draw a better more competitive team.

This baseball team has definite potential with a cast of young players that feel like they have a new start and home here in DC. I am hoping that the team has a great year but I also hope that the city can give the team some time to develop.
