Student Outcomes
Data were obtained from preliminary NCLB Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports and School Report Cards published at the VDOE website as of September 2006. Owing to matters beyond our control, final SOL data from Spring 2006 administrations were unavailable to school divisions at time of compilation of this report.
SAT Results
Student performance on the SAT for 2006 is given below. The results showed data for the writing portion of the assessment, which was given for the first time in 2005 but was excluded from the 2005 reporting. While limited information is presented on the SAT, it should be noted that there was an increase in the proportions of minority students taking the 2006 version of the test. This was counteracted by a reduction in the number of white students shown to have taken the newest version of the test. This drop in participation will be reviewed (impact of additional writing test, ACT, other?).
